2024 Coochie Classic Race

BrisSUP Club proudly presents the Coochie Classic 2024

The Coochie Classic has become one of the highlights in the SUP racing calendar, attracting some of the best SUP racers from across Queensland and interstate. The changing conditions around Coochiemudlo Island make it a technically challenging race and for many, just 'conquering Coochie' has become a personal challenge.

This will be the second race in the interclub GP One Consulting Triseries so competition will be fierce between the clubs.

Race registration opens on 27 August & closes midnight Friday 27 September

NO late registrations. No on-the-day registrations.

Race Day Times

• Race briefing is at 7:20am 

• Race start is at 7:40am

• Race day sign-on opens 6:30am

Course options
SHORT (4km) and LONG (8km around the island).

The long course will commence at Les Moore Park (standing water start) will then head towards the island paddling anti-clockwise around the island. Details to be confirmed on the event day.
The short course will also commence at Les Moore  Park and paddlers will follow the long course over to the main land and at the 2km mark they will round a buoy anti-clockwise and head back to the starting location.

Registration opens on 27 August & closes midnight Friday 27 September. NO late entries and no entries on the day.

Registration fee - $70 per person
The first 100 competitors registered will receive a BrisSUP gift pack, first come first serve. All competitors will get a choice from our selection of of fresh wraps and sandwiches and a drink. Loads of lucky door prizes thanks to our generous sponsorship.

Coochie Classic 2024 Race Divisions

SHORT Course (4km) and LONG Course (8km)

MEN

• Men 19 to 34 years
• Men 35 to 44 years
• Men 45 to 54 years
• Men 55 to 64 years
• Men 65+ years

Women

• Women 19 to 34 years
• Women 35 to 44 years
• Women  45 to 54 years
• Women 55 to 64 years
• Women 65+ years

Juniors Under 18 - Short course (only)

Race registration and payment will be through the BrisSUP website (see below).

To paddle in this event, you must be a member of one of the following clubs to cover you for insurance under Surfing Queensland.

• BrisSUP Club

• 4670 SUP Club

• Sunshine Coast SUP Club

• SUS Inc.

If you are not a current member of one of the nominated SUP clubs, please join your local SUP Club to help support and grow the sport, or alternatively, take out a BrisSUP Club day membership for $10. 
If you are not a member of a SUP Club, race registration will be a two step process:

1. Join and pay for a BrisSUP Club membership through the Surfing Queensland online portal. Day memberships for 27 September can be purchased at any time.

2. Register for Coochie Classic 2024 and pay the race fee.

COMPETITOR WAIVER: 

In consideration of the acceptance of my participation at the Coochie Classic 2024 with the BrisSUP Club Inc. I waive all claims that I may have against the BrisSUP Club Inc, its officers, directors, members, volunteers, employees, agents and sponsors, or its executors, administrators, heirs, successors or assigns (the organisers), and release them from all claims for death, injury or damage arising out of my participation in their club, their event and its related activities, together with any costs, including legal fees.

I agree to indemnify and keep indemnified the organisers against damage arising out of my participation in the events and its related activities.

I agree to comply with all the rules, regulations and instructions of the organisers.

In the event of injury or illness during participation, I consent to receive medical treatment, which may be deemed advisable by the organisers.

I acknowledge that I have sole responsibility for my personal possessions and equipment during all the events and activities.

I hereby permit the free use of my name and picture in any broadcasts, telecasts and the press including website as they pertain to the BrisSUP Club Inc. their events and activities.

I understand that my membership or entry entry fee is non-transferable and not refundable.

I agree to have my personal details recorded and used by the BrisSUP Club Inc. and related parties for further communications of future related events.
